Studio Hausen uses only solid wood from sustainable forestry for its shelves. Each shelf is unique, just as the growth of a tree is unique. Furthermore, formaldehyde-containing adhesives or other chemicals are completely avoided, and only natural-based paints are used for the finishes. The Sphere decorative bowls are hand-blown at over 1000°C using the traditional technique of double-walled glassware, and waste products from marble production are used to create the terrazzo bookends.
